Fernando Della Pasqua
Fernando was born in Argentina and after moving to New Zealand, continued to live his tradition trough music and dancing. He is passionate about Rueda Casino (cuban salsa) and Milonguero Argentine Tango style. He began teaching with Gaia Machiavello promoting Latin Dancing throughout Tasmania since 1999. In 2003 he established "the Tango Bar" in Hobart teaching and promoting authentic Argentine Tango in Tasmania. In 2004 he was the foundation president for "Tasmanian Club de Tango" and that year also established the first "Hobart Tango Festival" in Tasmania. He has been teaching salsa for 8 years and more recently with the "Salsa de Locos group in Tasmania focusing on Cuban style. Since moving to New Zealand in 2005 he promoted Argentine Tango in Dunedin and more recently in Taupo. He has been an invited teacher at the New Zealand Tango Festival, the New Zealand Tango Congress and the Australian Tango Congress.

Christian Drogo & Kristina Diaz (Melbourne) and Fabian & Karina Conca (Sydney); and was introduced to the magic of Tango Argentino in his hometown of Rosario by Beatriz Mendoza & Oscar Derudi.


Olivia Sumich
Olivia is a New Zealander of Croatian descent with a Brazilian/Cuban/Gypsy soul! After 11 years experience training and performing the many folkloric dance styles of former Yugoslavia she discovered Latin Salsa, Merengue and Cha-cha-cha for the first time 8 years ago. She soon went on to learn many styles of dance and percussion including Brazilian Samba, Samba Reggae, Axé, Forró and Argentine Tango. She consolidated her passion in dance trips to Argentina and Brazil.

Passionate about seeing dance become an every day part of the Kiwi life style (as it is in South and Central America), Olivia is a keen educator promoter and organiser of Latin and Brazilian music and dance. For the past 4 years she was based in Auckland as Project Manager and Co-Director of The Jambalaya Festival and The Aerolineas Argentinas NZ Tango Festival. Having recently settled in Taupo, she is now teaching and promoting dance with her partner Fernando Della Pasqua.
